将五位艺术家的作品汇集在一起,除了他们曾经在七年前毕业于同一个班级的原因之外,他们所呈现出的一种“前历史”的状态更引人注目。他们的创作目前尚未被过度认知和解释,仍然拥有极大的自由来选择自己的方向和趣味。这使他们的作品呈现出了一种进行中的状态。在这一点上他们的作品更被赋予了同观者进行沟通和交流的期待。他们正以思想和行动构成历史的叙述,也使信仰、趣味和自由的态度得以保持。

五位艺术家展现了他们关注的不同方向:毕业之后前往法国学习的董大为采用了“自动绘画”的方式,将艺术家的作用减少到极限,他唯一所做的就是将画笔接触到纸张。这一极简的方式凸现了主体选择与物理的随机之间的交互性。马胤新将富于怀旧色彩的绘画形式感对准了普通的城市和乡村生活景观,他敏锐的感知力和娴熟的技巧将人们司空见惯的情景表现得令人震撼。张帆的作品探讨了人与场所的超越常规的对应和关联,以及随之带来的心理反应,使表达和观看成为双向的互通状态。朱新宇捕捉到了空间中物质产生的“幻象”,在借助材料性和图像的多重互涉后使画面自然地生成,无声地达到精神图景的显现。张武运在按照自己“如实客观”的方式描绘身边景物的过程中找到了一种构成个体情感依托的范式,在绘画诸元素的取舍和协调中生长出了有效的个人表达。

人们对空间的感知作为一种生理机能而存在着。由生理到心理再到知觉、意识和灵魂,艺术作品通过不同的经验和态度使人们有可能跳离后天形成的知识背景和价值取向,直接感受在当下一瞬间所产生的生命感受,进而体验到对有限性的超越。艺术家们并非有意加深我们对现实的困惑和迷失,而是发起和触及文字和语言无法到达的境界,并形成视觉上的文本。当今各个层面的现实生活向各自的趋向愈演愈烈,人们时刻感到被边缘化的恐惧。在变化中对自我的重新认识,使艺术家们有机会提供他们对现实的真实理解。这些敏感的画家作为公众中的一员,他们有能力倾听生命中真实的声音,关照没有被诱惑的内心的本真,他们的努力将对公共生活以一种个人和本原的方式产生作用。

YOU ARE MY LANDSCAPE

Works by the five artists are gathered here, not only because they graduated from the same college seven years ago, but also because of a more noticeably “pre-historical” status presented by them. Witnessed in a state of “going underway”, their works have not been adequately recognized and elucidated, therefore much freedom is given to them to investigate one’s own direction and taste. In this sense it could be found in their works more anticipation to communicate with the viewers. Historical narrations are being formed by their thoughts and actions, meanwhile belief, taste and an attitude towards freedom are being maintained.

Different directions could be found among the five artists. Dong Dawei who studied in France after graduation adopted a method of “automatic painting”. To diminish effect from artist to the minimum, he just gets the paintbrush to the paper as the only thing he could do, which highlights the interactivity between subjective selectivity and physical randomness. Ma Yinxin painted about normal urban and rural life with nostalgia. Quotidian scenes are transformed into a heartquake by his acute sensibility and superb skills. Zhang Fan’s works investigated connection and correspondence beyond conventionality between men and locations as well as the following psychological reactions, which places expression and viewing in a bidirectional status. Zhu Xinyu captured “illusions” produced by subjects in space, and his paintings are built upon multi-interactions of materiality and images. Spiritual sceneries are visualized silently. Zhang Wuyun found a solution for individual emotional support when depicting sceneries around him in an “objective” way, therefore developed an effective personal expression by leave and take of various elements.

Human’s perception towards space exists as a physical function. From the physical to the psychological and then to perception, consciousness and soul, artworks make it possible for human to jump out of their acquired knowledge and value, to feel the instant life experiences and furthermore transcend the limitation. What artists do is not deepening confusions and sense of lost towards our realities on purpose, but to develop and access a scenario beyond words and languages, then create a visual text. At present realities at various aspects are developing intensely towards different directions, which brings people constant fear of being marginalized. Re-recognition about oneself in changes brings artists opportunities to provide their real understanding about realities. As members of the pubic, these sensitive artists have the ability to listen to the real sound of life, witness the innermost real without being tempted. Their effort will function on the public life in an individual and original way.
