“广州·现场”

        由53美术馆与GLSA组委会联合主办的国际性行为艺术活动——“广州·现场”将于2010年12月8日在广州53美术馆拉开帷幕。此次活动持续一周，以空前的规模呈现融合观念与身体表现的艺术形式，展示不可再生的充满诗意与想象的行为艺术。

        参加本次活动的35位艺术家来自17个国家，涵盖了从40年代到80年代不同的年龄层。他们之中既有亲历并见证了西方战后艺术史发展的先驱，也有坚持探索行为艺术在当代发展的新生一代。

        受邀艺术家之一，比尔·庄蒙德（Bill Drummond, United Kingdom）是英国KLF（版权解放战线）音乐社的发起人，其作品于1987年间风靡国际乐坛，90年代连续五年名留金榜。1993年的一次行为中，他燃烧了一百万英镑（价值一千五百万人民币），于此成为了艺术界的传奇。另一位来自德国的传奇人物，波里斯·涅斯洛尼（Boris Nieslony, Germany），是八十年代初期国际行为艺术的奠基人之一，也是“黑市国际”（Black Market International）行为艺术组织的发起人。今年正值“黑市国际”成立25周年，波立斯选择在“广州·现场”呈现他独特的玄妙而富有诗意的行为艺术，这的确是一次难逢的历史机遇。此外本次活动还邀请到了现居德国的中国艺术家段英梅，90年代她参与创作的行为艺术作品——《为无名山增高一米》成为了中国当代艺术史的里程碑。如今段英梅也是国际当代艺术平台上受邀平率最高的艺术家之一。

       “广州·现场”的策展人乔纳斯·斯坦普（Jonas.Stampe）在法国、瑞典、美国相继组织过国际性的行为艺术节。自2005年以来由他组织的艺术活动共展示了超过44国家的200位行为艺术家的作品。乔纳斯·斯坦普赋予“广州·现场”的目标是让广州在当代艺术的国际视野中占据一席之地。

        作为主办方之一的广州53美术馆，是广州第一家非盈利民营美术馆，定位于当代艺术与先锋形式的探索和呈现。自今年5月开馆以来，举办的展览在观念上力图与国际前沿接轨。此次 “广州·现场”以“只挑选优秀的艺术家及独具特色的作品”作为本次活动最主要的原则，期待给予观众一次全新的艺术冲击与体验。同时还将携手广州美术学院，展开，手第一所一系列交流活动，邀请具有深厚学术背景的艺术家开展相关的讲座、工作坊以及交流会以加强我们与世界的沟通，促进各地艺术家之间的深层次交流。

We are honored to present you a international action art festival----Guangzhou Live, founded and curate by Jonas Stampe, who has an established position on the international action art scene, with the curator experience of three action art festivals in Europe, Infr'Action - Festival International d'Art Performance in Sète, France, Infr’Action Paris, Live Action Göteborg, in Sweden. He is also the curator and director of the US action art event Live Action New York which was realized in its second edition in November 2010. Since 2005 he has presented more than 200 action artists from over 44 countries. According to Jonas Stampe says, “Guangzhou Live has the ambition to place Guangzhou on the international map of contemporary art”. Guangzhou Live assembling 35 artists from over 17 countries, will last from December 8 to 14, 2010 with its main event taken place at the 53 Art Museum with additional lectures and workshops at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

Guangzhou Live is intended to be a festival on a high international level with only one criteria of value, the quality of its artists and the featured work. Being here and now, Guangzhou Live is ephemeral, presenting an art form where mind and body is ONE. Visual poetry mixed with life, through the expression of artists that have only one motivation, that of being avant-garde and true to their art and to themselves.

One of the invited artists is Bill Drummond, most known as the founder of the English music group the KLF who created international hits since 1987 and was leading the music charts for 5 years in the West in the early 90’s. He became legendary on the art and music scene for having burned one million pound sterling (15 million RMB) in 1993. Bill Drummond will create a work in Guangzhou Live during two days with a final presentation of his work.

Another legendary artist is the German Boris Nieslony, who is a seminal figure on the international scene of action art since the early 80’s, and  the founder of the legendary action art collective Black Market International. His work at Guangzhou Live will be both enigmatic and conceptually poetic. Nieslony will be in Guangzhou after having finished a European tour celebrating the 25 year of Black Market International. Nobody should miss his lecture or work. It is a one time presence, that probably will not be seen again in Guangzhou

Yingmei Duan from China will in her turn present two works at Guangzhou Live. Mrs Duan, is one of the most asked for artists on the international scene. Based in Germany she is touring the world. Duan Yingmei was also one of the founders of the East Village artist area in Beijing, and one of the artists who realized the historical and famous action art work, "To Add One Meter to an Anonymous Mountain" in the early 90’s.

Besides presenting works of action art, Guangzhou Live also engages in the promotion of exchange and cooperation among the foreign artists and local institutions. As part of the event, discussions, lectures and workshops will be held at GAFA, the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

Guangzhou Live will be a one time experience. We are sure that it will be appreciated by those who want to discover a highly experimental and avant-garde art form, who feel a necessity to be in line with what can be described not only as the avant-garde, but as the future of contemporary art.
