北京对画空间画廊[Dialogue Space]荣幸地宣布张琪凯“我爱你-2010新作展”将于2010年5月15日下午4点开幕。这是继2009年在北京对画空间举办的“镜中镜”个展获得广泛关注和认可之后，张琪凯在中国大陆的第二次个展。
作为旅居欧洲多年的中国艺术家，张琪凯在对东西方双重文化的感悟中，逐渐发展出与众不同的艺术方法论。东方传统禅宗智慧的精神内核与西式艺术语言表达方式的结合，使张琪凯的作品拥有双重视觉张力的同时，构建了一个感官与意义不断纠缠的迷宫。东西方两种文化之间的对话与对抗，作品构成元素的比喻与象征，使作品跳脱单一线性叙事的羁绊，发展出无限可能性，气场十足。最为难能可贵的是，丰富多元的内容和意义，在张琪凯的作品中都是通过极其简洁的语言元素呈现出来的，敏锐的洞察力，高度的整合能力和精细的制作工艺在张琪凯的作品中实现了完美的统一。
“我爱你”既是本次展览的主题，也是本次展览的点睛之作。作品呈现了被铁链束缚于数米高空之上的白鸽被迫与老鹰交欢的场面。引伸出对“暴力、强权、侵犯、单边主义、恐怖主义”等诸多的联想，从而让我们进一步反思当今世界，人与人之间、民族与民族之间、国家与国家之间的相互关系，“爱”是什么？到底为何而“爱”？应该如何去“爱”？ 作品的呈现方式值得我们期待。作品《我和你》中，亚洲板块和北美洲板块之间的触角被张琪凯艺术化的处理为两头意欲撕咬的猛兽。《红方》、《禅园》等装置作品和最新创作的架上作品也将在本次展览上展出。这将是张琪凯艺术创作的一个新阶段，他不再赋予作品具体的针对性，而是从更为广泛的人类精神世界中寻找关于时间、空间、人性的永恒主题，将观者带入更为广阔的精神空间。

Beijing Dialogue Space gallery is proud to announce the opening on May 15, 2010 at 4pm of Zhang Qikai “I love you – 2010 new works exhibition. This is the second solo exhibition in China of the artist after his show “Double Image” which was held in Dialogue Space in 2009.
As a Chinese artist who has travelled and lived in Europe, Zhang Qikai has a dual Oriental and Western perception of things, and from there he follows and develops his unique artistic conceptions. The combination of the core of Eastern Zen Buddhist wisdom with Western artistic languages and expressions, while giving his works a strong dual vision, makes a labyrinth where senses and conscience struggle. With the dialogue and the opposition of the East and the West, the works constitute elements of metaphor and of symbol, which makes them transcend the linear narrative approach, and opens unlimited possibilities, full of spirit.
The most precious thing is that the rich and varied contents and meanings, in Zhang Qikai’s works, come out through the elements of an extremely simplified language, an acute insight, a high level of integration and a meticulous craftsmanship, which give them their beautiful unity.
“I love you” is the main theme of this exhibition, and its most striking work as well. It shows, upon an iron chain raised at a height of several meters in the air, the scene of an eagle forcing himself on a peace dove. It suggests the notions of “violence, might, intrusion, unilateralism, and terrorism” and similar associations, and thus makes us reflect further about our present world, about the relations between individuals and between peoples and nations, about what is “love”? Why “love” in the end? How should we love”?
The very presentation of the work is worthy of our expectations. In the work “Me and you”, the artistic treatment of the intersection of the Asian and the North-American plates by Zhang Qikai becomes two wild beasts bent on tearing themselves apart. “The Red house”, the “Zen Garden” and other installations and newest works are also exhibited here. This is a new phase in the artistic creation of Zhang Qikai, in which he does not give a specific direction to his works any longer, but rather looks for the eternal subject of mankind, time and space from the wider perspective of the world human spirit, and thereby gives a wider spiritual space to the viewers.
