一、缘起
2011年,清华大学将迎来她的百年华诞。为了体现清华大学的办学理念,展示清华大学的形象,彰显“和谐发展”的精神主旨,推进绿色校园文化的建设,为清华大学百年盛典献上一份厚礼,清华大学将举办有百件大型雕塑参与的“清华大学百年校庆 — 水木清华·国际校园雕塑大展”。
这是中国高校首次举办如此规模的雕塑艺术大展。本次大展旨在凸显开放性、国际性、包容性、前沿性的特色;倡导“艺术与科学”的完美结合与互动;展示国际当代校园雕塑的艺术水平和发展趋势;创造当代国际校园文化建设的新模式。
本大展自即日起,面向全球,公开征稿。
二、展览主题:人文·科学·艺术
主题阐释:“人文·科学·艺术”的主题希望体现清华大学厚德载物、历久弥新的人文底蕴和与时俱进的精神追求,彰显清华大学创办“绿色大学”的理念;体现清华大学倡导的“艺术与科学”两翼齐飞、和谐发展的价值取向,彰显清华大学的学术品格和学术思想;体现清华大学自强不息、勇于开拓、争创国际一流的远大理想,彰显清华大学的国际形象,扩大其社会影响力。

四、征稿要求
1、参展作品题材
纪念性作品:
表现清华大学的缔造者、著名学者的形象魅力和精神风骨,反映与清华大学相关的重大历史事件和重要历史人物,以兹纪念先贤、激励后人。
个性化作品:
充分彰显艺术家的个性,表现艺术家对清华精神、清华品格的独特把握与理解,以艺术家鲜明的艺术语言、形式展示百年清华人的时代风貌。
公共性作品:
立足清华大学的校园环境,有机的利用、整合现有的环境资源,提升校园的文化品位,增强校园的艺术氛围。
2、征稿范围
凡认同本次大展的主题和宗旨,具有雕塑创作能力的国内外艺术家均可报名参加,不限国别、民族、年龄、性别。国内外的专业艺术组织机构和团体也可以以团体的名义组织报名。
3、创作要求
参展作品要求拥有作品全部的知识产权,具有原创性和创新性;创作理念创新、独特;同时还需形式美观,艺术性强,能融入清华大学的环境;具有可实施性和安全性。
4、征稿数量
大展共征集作品100件左右。其中,国内60件左右,国外40件左右。原则上,每位艺术家只能有1件作品参加展览。
5、征稿方式
本次征稿实行实名投稿制。参展艺术家提交作品时,必须填写个人的真实姓名、详细通讯住址、邮政编码、电子邮箱、电话号码等真实详细的个人资料和艺术简历。来稿请注明“大展稿件”字样。
参展艺术家必须认真填写《报名登记表》。需提交雕塑方案效果图或作品照片及文字说明一份,书面(A4格式)和CD- ROM (PDF) 格式的电子光盘各1份。文字说明,包括创作主题、创作意图、创作理念、创作形式等与创作相关的文字内容。大展组委会对送展作品的雕塑方案效果图或作品照片进行初评,确定入围作品后,随即通知入围作者。入围作者在组委会规定的时间内,提供40公分左右的立体模型。组委会根据所提交的立体模型进行复评,确定最终入选作品。
6、作品评选
组委会将聘请著名的专家学者组成评审委员会,按照公开、公平、公正的原则,严格依照制定的评选标准和程序进行初评、复评,最终产生参展作品,通过各类媒体公布评选信息,发布参展作品名单。
五、参展艺术家的权益
1、艺术家的权利与义务
本次大展所有参展作品和立体模型均由清华大学收藏。组委会将从入选参展的作品中,选择部分作品安置于清华大学校园,作为永久陈列。
国内入选参展作品由艺术家自行放大制作,按照要求交送组委会足尺等大的玻璃钢模型。国外艺术家作品的放大制作由组委会统一安排完成。所有作品的材料加工制作由组委会统一安排。组委会支付每位入选参展艺术家相关的创作稿费共计人民币50,000元(对于入选作品,就其展示、出版、收藏、永久安置陈列等,组委会不再支付其它费用)。
邀请入选艺术家来清华大学参加展览开幕式及研讨会,并承担其由常住地到清华大学的往返交通、会议期间统一安排的食宿费用。
2、作品收藏
所有入选参展作品均颁发《清华大学百年校庆 — 水木清华·国际校园雕塑大展参展证书》、《清华大学百年校庆 — 水木清华·国际校园雕塑大展收藏证书》
3、作品宣传出版
组委会负责对所有参展作品和整个活动的报道,所有入选作品将结集出版《清华大学百年校庆 — 水木清华·国际校园雕塑大展作品集》和《清华大学百年校庆 — 水木清华·国际校园雕塑大展论文集》,组委会将赠送每位入选艺术家各1册。

参展规则
1、国内外雕塑家应该在规定时间内递交作品方案和相关资料,组委会对其所收到的所有应征参展文件一概不予退还,参展方应自留底稿。组委会将尊重每位参展艺术家,如非宣传需要,对其个人信息严格保密。
2、所有的参展作品应该主题积极、健康,艺术格调清新、高雅,与清华大学的校园环境相适宜。
3、参展艺术家提供的必须是自己独立创作的作品,保证拥有参展作品全部的知识产权,如有抄袭、模仿的作品或侵犯他人的合法权益的其它情形的,主办方不为参展方的侵权行为承担任何责任。若因参展方侵犯第三方合法权益或因参展方的其他过错而使主办方遭受任何名誉或经济上的损失,主办方均有权要求参展方采取措施,以保证主办方免受上述损失。主办方保留向参展方追究和索赔的权利,同时保留取消参展方参展资格的权利。
4、参展作品要具有可实施性,还要充分考虑公共安全性,避免安全隐患。
5、作品一旦入选,即将被视为清华大学百年校庆的专题创作。在展览未举办之前,参展艺术家未经大展组委会的允许,不得擅自将参展作品提供给其他组织或个人使用或展示,否则将取消其参展资格。
6、清华大学接受个人或单位的捐资建造。组委会将在作品的铭牌上为捐建的个人或单位永久署名纪念,并回赠该捐建作品的立体模型一件。
7、所有参展艺术家,其作品一旦入选,都将视作同意本次大展的相关规定,接受大展组委会所提出的所有条件,主办方有权为了清华大学的目的,以其认为适当的方式自行或许可他人使用入选作品,而无需向入选方支付报酬;入选方同意其作品由组委会统一宣传、展览和出版。
8、本次征集活动适用中华人民共和国法律。
9、本规则的解释权归属大展组委会。

Tsinghua University (hereinafter referred to as “Tsinghua”) will celebrate her centennial in 2011. In order to manifest the educational philosophy of Tsinghua, to demonstrate the image of Tsinghua, to highlight the theme of “harmonious development", to build the green campus culture, to present a precious gift for the centennial, Tsinghua will host the event" Tsinghua University Centennial — Shui Mu Tsinghua · An International Sculpture Exhibition on Campus", collecting 100 pieces of major sculptures.
This is the first sculpture exhibition on such a scale in China held by a university. The exhibition highlights “openness, internationality, inclusion and cutting edge”, advocates the perfect combination and interaction of "art and science",displays the trend of international contemporary campus sculptures and tries to develop a new mode of contemporary international campus culture.
The submission of sculpture works from worldwide is open now.

3. Works submission requirements
Themes
Monumental works:
Manifest the charm and spirit of the founders and famous scholars of Tsinghua and present the major historical events and important historical figures related to Tsinghua in commemoration of its predecessors.
Personalized works:
Fully demonstrate the artist's personality, the unique grasp and comprehension of the spirit of Tsinghua. Use the artist’s distinctive language to reflect the centenary Tsinghua spirit.
Public works:
To enhance culture taste and the artistic atmosphere of the campus based on the environment of Tsinghua, organically using and integrating the existing environmental resources.
Submission of works
Anyone who agrees on the theme and aim of the exhibition and has the sculpture creation capacity in and outside China is invited to participate in this exhibition, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, age and gender.
Professional art organizations and groups can also register under the name of the team for the exhibition.
Creation requirements
The artist should enjoy the full intellectual property rights of the submitted works, which must be innovational, creative and unique, at the same time, be appreciable with a beautiful and strong artistic form, which can go along with the environment of Tsinghua.
100 submissions
Among them, 60 will be collected from China and 40 from outside China. In principle, each artist submits one piece of work for the exhibition.
Works submission method
The real-name system will be put into practice in this works submission. Artist who submits works must fill in personal real name, detailed correspondence address, postal code, e-mail, phone number and other real personal information and art resume. Please specify "Exhibition Works" indication. Artist must carefully fill out the "Registration Form”. Design sketch of the sculpture program or photographs of the works and text descriptions, written (A4 format) and CD-ROM (PDF) format copies of each one are required to submit. The creative theme, intent, ideas, forms related to the sculpture creation are required to be included in the text description. The Organizing Committee will carry out initial evaluation on the design sketch of the sculpture program or photographs of the submitted works to determine the semifinalists and notify them immediately. Semifinalists should provide three-dimensional models of about 40 cm within the specified time. The Organizing Committee will re-evaluate the three-dimensional models to determine the final selected works.
Works selection
Organizing Committee will invite well-known experts and scholars to found the Evaluation Committee in an open, fair and impartial manner which will strictly observe the established selection criteria and procedures for initial evaluation, re-evaluation of exhibits. Selection information and the final selected exhibition works list will be published through various medias.
4. The rights of the artists
The artist's rights and obligations
All participating works and their three-dimensional models are collected by Tsinghua. Some works will be selected from among all the exhibition works and be placed on appropriate sites on the Tsinghua campus as a permanent display.
The enlargement of the works from China are completed by the artists themselves and the full-scale, isometrical fiberglass models of the works are required to submit to the Organizing Committee. The enlargement of the works from outside China will be arranged to complete uniformly by the Organizing Committee. The Organizing Committee is in charge of the processing procedures for both the domestic works and foreign works. The Organizing Committee will pay each one of the artists creation-related expenses, amounted to RMB 50,000 Yuan( the only pay available to the artists).
The Organizing Committee will invite selected artists to participate in the opening ceremony and seminar of the exhibition, and assume the cost of transportation from the place of permanent residence to Tsinghua round trip and also the cost of meals and accommodation during the meeting period.

Organizing Committee is responsible for the publicity of all the participating works and of the whole event.

Participation Rules of Tsinghua University Centennial — Shui Mu Tsinghua ·
An International Sculpture Exhibition on Campus
1, Domestic and foreign sculptors should submit their works programs and related materials within the specified time. The submitted works will not be returned to the exhibitors, they should keep the original paper.The Organizing Committee will respect all the artists and keep the personal information for them unless the need of propaganda.
2, The theme of all the participating works must be positive, healthy and freshly artistic, elegant, in accordance with the campus environment of Tsinghua.
3, Participating artists must provide their own independently created works to ensure the full intellectual property rights of the works and are not allowed to provide copying, imitating works or violate the legal rights and interests of the others, and the sponsor is not liable for the infringement of the participating party. If it is for the infringement of participating party to the third party’s legal rights or any other faults of the participating party leading to the reputation or economic loss of the organizers, the organizers have the right to require exhibitors to take measures to ensure that the organizers immune from the loss. The sponsor reserves the right to inquire and claim, while retaining the rights of cancellation the qualification of the exhibitors.
4, The works submitted should be practical. The participating artists should take safety into consideration when creates the sculpture works to avoid the hidden dangers.
5, Works once selected will be regarded as the specified works for Tsinghua University Centennial — Shui Mu Tsinghua · An International Sculpture Exhibition on Campus. Without the permission of the Organizing Committee, participating artists are not allowed to provide the works to other organizations or for personal use before the exhibition is held. If once finding the behaviors mentioned above, the Organizing Committee will cancel the qualification of the participants.
6, Tsinghua accepts the donations from the individuals or companies for the construction of the selected works. The Organizing Committee will list the names of them on the nameplates as a permanent memory, and present one piece of the three-dimensional model to the individuals or companies.
7, If once the works of an artist is selected, he or she will be deemed to agree on the relevant provisions of this exhibition offered by the OrganizingCommittee. The sponsor has the right to use or permits others to use the submitted works in the way they regard appropriate without paying the exhibitors, including propagating, exhibiting and publishing.
8, The submission activity is for the laws of People’s Republic of China.
9,The interpretation of the rules is a matter for the Organizing Committee.
