ShContemporary上海艺术博览会国际当代艺术展将秉承着注重艺术内容以，及对于亚太地区的新兴天才的深入发掘，第三次登陆上海展览中心。
作为亚洲最具活力和国际影响力的当代艺术展，ShContemporary上海艺术博览会国际当代艺术展于2008年吸引了来自于30多个国家的超过140个知名的国际画廊参展。一个由来自世界各地的11位策展人组成的专业团队及其挑选出的31位亚太地区艺术家悉心合作打造了展会独特的展览项目。
注重艺术内容
为继续ShContemporary亚洲顶尖艺术展的地位，今年展会仍然坚持其一贯的艺术品质，并且注重艺术内容的鲜活性。展会拥有一个卓越的专业策展团队和新任的展会总监，Colin Chinnery，其曾担任过北京的尤伦斯当代艺术中心主要策展人和副总监。
Colin将和三位卓越的艺术专业人士共同合作：:
- Mami Kataoka, 驻东京及伦敦的策展人。作为东京森美术馆资深策展人与伦敦黑瓦德画廊的国际策展人，Mami Kataoka 是唯一一位同时活跃在东西方著名机构的资深策展人。Kataoka 的近期展览又在黑瓦德画廊展出的“用外语笑”，目前正在策划东京森美术馆的艾未未个展。
- Anton Vidokle, .驻纽约与柏林的作家，艺术家及策展人。作为e-flux的创立者，他是第一位研究互联网作为一种新型社会与智能结合可能性的探索者之一。Vidokle曾担任欧洲宣言双年展的共同策展人，该展取消后他又创造了一个历时一年的项目，名为联合国广场（Unitednationsplaza），由数百位驻柏林的艺术家，哲学家及作家参与其中。作为一位艺术家，Vidokle的作品曾在威尼斯双年展，里昂双年展，泰特现代美术馆，洛杉矶汉默尔美术馆，慕尼黑现代美术馆，美国PS1现代艺术中心等地展出。
- 汪建伟 驻北京艺术家。作为一位多才多艺，极具实验精神的中国艺术家，汪建伟用跨领域的作法探索艺术表现形式，从电影，戏剧，多媒体，公共艺术到绘画。作为第一批国际认可的中国艺术家之一，汪建伟受邀出席1997年德国文件展，去年他又得到了享有国际声誉的美国当代艺术基金会授予的奖金。
以上三位专业人士共同策展展会的“发现”部分，该部分精选来自亚太地区及世界其他地区的新兴艺术家余位处职业生涯中潮的艺术家，位于壮观的占地1900平方米的中央大厅。该策展团队也将会为展会的学术活动，一系列论坛及实验性计划提供其宝贵的意见与建议。
“平台”-ShContemporary崭新的展览部分，满足了代理新兴艺术家画廊的需求。每个展位最多展示两位艺术家最近两年创作的作品，该部分将展示亚太地区或其他地区的新一代艺术家的最新作品。
顶级画廊, ShContemporary的主要展出部分, 将展出来自世界各地超过100家的被邀请的画廊的作品，这些画廊将由艺术组委会根据作品和特别陈述进行挑选。顶级画廊将展出来自于亚洲，欧洲和美洲经过精心挑选的画廊作品，这一部分将展出最具才华的当代艺术天才和亚洲当代艺术内容。

From September 10-13, ShContemporary 09 returns for its third year to the stunning Shanghai Exhibition Centre
The third edition of ShContemporary, returns to the Shanghai Exhibition Centre with a strong focus on artistic content as well as an in-depth research of new talents coming from the Asia-Pacific region.
Established as Asia’s most dynamic and international contemporary art fair, the 2008 edition attracted over 140 prestigious international galleries from nearly 30 countries. A team of eleven curators from around the world worked together to create special exhibition projects by 31 artists in the Asia Pacific region.
A strong focus on artistic content
To confirm ShContemporary’s place as Asia’s top art fair, the energy shall be placed on the quality and vitality of its artistic content through a skilled team of curators and professionals, and a new Fair Director, Colin Chinnery, former Chief Curator and Deputy Director at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in Beijing.
Colin will coordinate an artistic team of three prominent art professionals:
- Mami Kataoka, Senior Curator at the Mori Art Museum and International Curator at the Hayward Gallery. Kataoka’s recent shows include Laughing in a Foreign Language at the Hayward Gallery, and she is currently the curator of a major solo show of Ai Weiwei at the Mori Art Museum.
- Anton Vidokle, writer, artist and curator, founder of e-flux, co-curator of Manifesta 6 and creator of a yearlong project, Unitednationsplaza in Berlin. As an artist, Vidokle’s work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Lyon Biennial and at Tate Modern, UCLA Hammer, Haus Der Kunst, P.S.1, among others.
- Wang Jianwei is one of the most versatile and consistently experimental artists in China. He was the first Chinese artist to show at Documenta, had a solo exhibition at the Walker Art Center in 2003, and last year received the prestigious Foundation for Contemporary Arts grant.
Together, they shall curate DISCOVERIES, a section of individual projects by emerging and midcareer artists from Asia and around the world, set in a spectacular 1,900m2 arched hall. The artistic team of curators shall also contribute towards educational events, a focused programme of talks and seminars, and one-off experimental projects within the fair.
The new PLATFORM section, gives galleries representing emerging artists the opportunity for exposure.
Each booth will showcase a maximum of two artists presenting work produced in the last two years, introducing a fresh new generation of artists in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
BEST OF GALLERIES, the main section of ShContemporary, will present more than 100 invited galleries from around the world, selected by the Artistic Committee on the basis of projects and special presentations. The best galleries from the entire Asian region, exhibiting along a carefully selected group of galleries from Europe and the Americas, will show the most interesting contemporary talent, with a special focus on Asian contemporary art.
September 9th: the Collectors Night
On the evening of September 9th, collectors will have the first-hand opportunity to view the displayed works and procure the pieces of utmost interest in the prestigious context of the renowned Shanghai Exhibition Centre.
A superb chance to mix and mingle with the international art world’s pre-eminent galleries all under one roof!
